Welcome to SILSSA!

SILSSA is the Student Association for the Pratt SILS community, as well as the Student branch of the ALA for Pratt– If you’re an enrolled student at Pratt SILS, you’re already a member of SILSSA!

April is going to be an awesome– and busy!– month at Pratt SILS. Here’s a quick overview of everything we’ve got coming up this month:

All April – #infoshow will take place May 15th, and nominations are now open. Check out what it’s all about here!

Monday, April 6 – SILSSA Officer nominations for the 2015-16 school year open. Nominate yourself!

Friday, April 10th – Pratt SILS Student groups are partnering with Librarian Libations for a happy hour. Join us at Beauty Bar starting at 6 PM!

Saturday, April 11th from 1-5pm, (in PMC 613) - It’s that time of the semester—we all could use a little stress relief.  Join us in welcoming Emma Karin Eriksson, Zine-maker-extraordinaire, for some zine-mediated expression!

Tuesday, April 14th from 5:30-6:30pm – Are you interested in a career in public librarianship? Come to our panel to find out what being a public librarian is all about!

Saturday, April 18th from 1-6pm (in PMC 609) – Librarians @ Pratt: A Wikipedia Edit-a-thon, pt. 2 Join us for a second installment of our Pratt SILS history Wikipedia Editathon. Open to faculty, staff, alums, and current students. Details and sign-up here: bit.ly/SILSeditathon

Monday, April 20th  at 6pm (in PMC 610)- SILSSA will hold our next general meeting on April 4/20. We will talk about #infoshow, officer elections, and other exciting things!

Monday, April 27th – Elections for SILSSA officers will begin, and run for one week. Officers will be announced on May 4.
